What resolution do my pictures come in?

We have two options. All of our packages come with web-size images. These are optimized for speed in viewing on the internet and quick download/upload. They are 1024px and are not intended for printing. Our top two packages, the Professional and Social Professional, also include high-res images. These are great for printing up to a poster size canvas and are 3600px on the long edge.

How are my images delivered - and how fast?

Editing, which your photographer will explain during your session, takes 7-10 business days. Your final images will be delivered via email in a downloadable link. If necessary, one out-of-camera image can be sent as a placeholder image immediately after your session. If you need a full rush edit, talk to your photographer as sometimes that can be accommodated for a fee. You will have 10 days to download your images, after which they are archived for 1 year should you ever misplace them or have a complete technical meltdown (fee associated with reloading).

What can I expect weather-wise and will my session be canceled for bad weather?

We shoot all outdoors in natural conditions. This means moisture, wind, heat, cold, sunshine, clouds - and this means that your headshot will be “non-static.” For example, your hair may blow around a bit or be affected by weather. We love this, but if you don’t then you may want to consider a studio photographer. That said, our photographers stay up to date with weather apps and can read the details. For example, we know the difference between 5 and 15 MPH wind. We will cancel if we don’t think we can get good shots, but you might be surprised at the conditions we can photograph in.

Do you offer hair and makeup for headshots?

No, but a lot of ladies treat themselves to a hair blow out before their session. Professional make-up isn’t necessary but if you opt for it, be sure it’s natural. You are not under artificial lights so do not need heavy or pancake makeup. Men, go easy on the hair gel.

Do I have to decide which images I want during my session?

Yes. Your photographer will guide you and be your “second opinion.” We confidently claim that Happy Hour Headshot photographers are among the top portraiture photographers in each of our cities. The two of you will quickly get your images down to the best of the best. The last bit of narrowing down will be based on your needs and budget. We have this all happen in 1 hour because that’s the service we sell: fast, easy, simple best self images.

What if I want to take pictures with a colleague/friend/family member?

Schedule two back-to-back sessions. Then both people come together at the first hour. Each person will buy their own image package. You can put the “together” shots in whichever package makes most economic sense.

Which location and time is best?

Our photographers work for a long time picking out locations. They consider the light all during the day, the available backgrounds and vibe of the cafe. When you select a time and location, don’t worry about anything other than it being convenient to you. Additionally, we will use several different locations at each cafe during your shoot. And while we do not guarantee a particular backdrop and often mix it up, rest assured we look for the best light and composition when positioning you.

Do you have a studio or can I get headshots with a plain background?

We only do natural light outdoor portraits a la Happy Hour Headshot style. See our portfolio or our Instagram so you know what to expect. We use light, texture and color to make each shot unique, and often your background will be blurred out.

Do I get my money back if I need to cancel?

Per our cancellation policy, if you cancel with at least 48 hours notice you will be fully refunded and/or you can reschedule at your convenience. In the case of bad weather, your photographer will be in touch and assist you in rescheduling.

Can I get a last minute booking?

We book shoots 24 hours or more in advance, never less. This is to give you time to prep for your shoot and our photographers notice to accommodate you. All booking is done online.

How many “looks” / outfits can I have?

"Unlimited" within the time frame of the shoot which goes for about 20-25 minutes. So a couple different tops is usually the simplest thing. In fact we encourage a jacket/scarf to switch it up. Same for hair - start with it down then put it up, or vice versa. If you want to change your pants/skirt/entire outfit, you will need to be quick.

Can I get some custom shots that are unique to my business needs, aka lifestyle photography and branding photos?

Absolutely. We can accommodate most unique requests within the framework of our cafe setting. Things like you at the computer or you sipping coffee are things we can accomplish during a cafe session. For more details, have a look at our lifestyle & branding photography page.

Can I do dating profile pictures and business headshots in the same session? How about petshots?

Yes yes and yes. Most of our single folks end up with a WOW shot for their dating profile. Check out some of our dating profile pictures. There is no additional charge for this. If you’re interested in bringing your dog along that’s possible too, just give us a heads up so we can make sure you book at the right cafe (hello@happyhourheadshot.com). If you do bring a pet, we charge a flat $100/pet on top of your headshot photo shoot package.

Are my headshots edited - and how?

Yes. Your photographer will walk you though an edit and show you examples. You can check out editing examples in advance too. In a nutshell, images are edited naturally with adjustments like cropping, straightening, color tones, exposure, and sharpening. If portrait edits such as softening, removing blemishes, or changing something material to the image are desired, they are priced separately and quoted the during session. Duplicate images with our signature Glow Up portrait edit are included in our Social Professional package.

Can you explain the money-back guarantee?

We take a $49 deposit when you schedule, which includes the image consultation, photo shoot and selection session. This amount is applied to your image package and is “risk-free,” in other words fully refundable if you decide for any reason that you don’t want your images. Once you see & select your images (after your shoot), you buy an image package, paying the balance directly to your photographer via credit card or cash. After this, there are no refunds.

Can I get half & full-length shots?

Absolutely. We take you from all angles and at all lengths. See our portfolio for examples.

How do I prep?

You will get a page of excellent prep information once you sign up. And more importantly, your photographer will guide you every step of the way. We know you are “scared” & "not used to this” & “hate having your picture taken” & “aren’t photogenic” & “have no idea what to do” & “are overall tortured by this entire process.” COME!
